Insiders: Jacqui Partridge of Partridge Events

Q1. We would like to ask a short introduction about you, your company, and your website .
A1. Our Creative team, led by Managing Director Jacqui Partridge, share a wealth of knowledge of upcoming trends in event design, and exquisite theming ideas. Such expertise is complemented by a host of respected suppliers to include florists, stylish furniture, and the latest in production technology. Our website showcases our work and the areas we work within. Jacqui trained in Design and Display and went on to become a visual merchandiser in an Oxford Street Department Store.  This gave her great grounding for all her future creative work.  After over 20 years’ experience in various creative roles she spotted a gap in the market for bespoke event decor and set up her own event theming business. Over time and with this experience Jacqui and the business evolved and in 2005 was re-launched as Partridge Events to provide an all-encompassing event production service.  Still following Jacqui’s love for design, using her knowledge of the Event Industry and keeping to Jacqui’s strong ethos. As a long-standing member of ISES (International Special Events Society) in June 2014 Jacqui was nominated and voted onto the board for a second time as Vice President of Events.  Working on the board with some of the industry’s top professionals for over three years gave Jacqui insight into the organisation of entire events rather than just the design.  This voluntary role required her to produce an exciting, interesting and industry relevant event every month with little or no budget.  Her years as an ISES member has also given Jacqui an unrivalled ‘little black book’ of respected and trusted suppliers.

Q2. What would be the most prevalent trend in events and wedding decoration for this year? (Particularly colors, design, themes, etc)
A2. Colour palettes for this theme span from dark ivy greens and browns to pastel pinks and delicate petal tones. Fairytale theme allows for us as event designers to be hugely creative and really use the theme for every element of the event from lighting, which could be romantic festoon lighting draped through trees to organic table centres consisting of wild flowers and dense foliage. To add another element to the wedding we love the idea of of using Tim Walker as an inspiration for props and decorations. Think oversized picture frames that could act as a photoprop/ booth or giant playing cards to add an Alice in Wonderland magical fairy tale theme.

Q3. What’s your dream or favorite event/wedding decoration idea for 2015?
A3. We are loving bell jars Bell jars at the moment! They are wonderfully versatile and we have used them on many different events. We filled have them with baubles and battery operated lights for Christmas events, beautiful florals for weddings and summer events, and fake red roses and miniature playing cards for Alice in Wonderland table centres. The wonderful thing about bell jars is the range of sizes – which only increases their versatility and makes us love them even more! As well as bell jars we love sequin tablecloths; they are a really simple and effective way of turning a venue into a truly magical setting. They are glamorous and still have a vintage feel to them, making them the perfect accessory for a fairy-tale wedding! We think the rusty gold and the dull silver sequins add just enough sparkle and make a change from classic table linen.
